Mark and I went to the zoo today. Mark had his first ride on the carousel. He appeared to enjoy the carousel, but got upset when I tried to put him back into his stroller. Once the stroller was moving, Mark calmed down again. After seeing a few animals, I took Mark over to the shady playground, held his hand, and let him walk around and play on the playground. I think Mark enjoyed the zoo more this time. He got excited looking at the meercats, rhinoceros, flamingos and elephants. He pointed and babbled at the animals.

Our little explorer! Mark found this little spot himself. Mark is figuring out how to get into cabinets and drawers everywhere in the house. He is quick too! He has also learned how to stand up on things so he can reach what he wants. Mark is able to reach more and this week he managed to get a knife out of a drawer. Thank God, no injury, but that sure made me think we need to move some things around in the kitchen.

Mark loves riding on Daddy's shoulders. Today we went down to watch the Fly-In of radio controlled model airplanes. It was quite hot so we didn't stay too long. Mark seemed to enjoy the action. He was smiling and pointing at the planes.

Having fun at the Park

Lisa, Jacob, Mark, and I met at the park for a play day. Jacob has really taken off walking and Lisa kept chasing after him. I am wondering how long it will be until I am doing the same. Mark's favorite activity at the park is swinging on the swings. He just smiles and laughs.

Mike has been taking Mark on bike rides. Mark seems to enjoy it.

Today Mark and I went to Bartlesville. We visited with my friend Suzanne and her three children and then we had lunch at Granny and Grandpa's house. Mark had lunch with his Granny, Grandpa, and Great Grandma. He really likes trying to navigate the stairs at Granny and Grandpa's house. Mark also took a few steps across the floor during the visit.

We enjoyed spending time together on the 4th of July. Mark splashed in his splash pool and got Mike all wet. We let Mark stay up a little past his bedtime so he could watch some fireworks. Mark was very excited about seeing the fireworks. He pointed, smiled, babbled, and rocked back and forth with excitement.
