Mark has been sick this week. He has a double ear infection and an upper respiratory virus. He had a shot of antibiotics at Urgent Care on Monday and a chest x-ray at his pediatrician's office on Tues. The oral antibiotic made Mark sick to his stomach so his pediatrician switched Mark to another antibiotic. It has been quite a week, but today Mark is acting like himself full of energy and smiles. He has been talking more and more. Here are some of his new words: "peas", "bus", "beep", "boo", and "go" He is also combining words "bye bye daddy" and "no mama" are a couple I heard today. Mark was trying to read his story tonight. He opened the book and started talking jargon while looking at the pages.

Oh my! I wonder what my Texas relatives think of this picture!

Mark is going a mile a minute these days. He really enjoys a good game of chase. Mark has been talking more and more. Some of his new words are: "hot", "bee", "ball","bubble, "moon" and "no". He calls Granny Jan "ninny", Grandpa Shelby "papa", and Great Grandma "gigi". Last night when talking with Grandma Mary, he tried saying grandma which sounded more like "momo". He uses "hi" and "bye-bye" when he is on the phone or when I am on the phone. He still enjoys watching his signing videos and says "yoyo" to indicate that he wants to watch a video. He has picked up so many signs too. It is so fun to see Mark's language develop.

We now have just one kitty in our home. Two of our three cats were having stress issues since Mark started walking. We tried medication, but they didn't seem to solve the problem. Cossette is currently living in Bartlesville and Oreo is with her original owner here in Broken Arrow. We have been giving Aurora lots of attention. Aurora is so good with Mark and she will even stay still so he can pet her. We keep an eye on the cat interactions since Mark doesn't quite know the term "gentle" and Mark likes to put his head on Aurora.
