It was a hot weekend, so on Saturday evening I took Mark outside and let him play in the sprinkler. He wouldn't let me change him into his swim trunks, but at least I managed to get him in a swim diaper. Mark enjoyed running around and playing in the water.

Mark can now recognize about 12 letters now. It is so fun when he sees a letter and labels it correctly. He is a real chatterbox these days and runs a commentary on just about everything.

Kimberly and I arranged a playtime at the zoo for Owen and Mark last Thursday. The boys enjoyed rides on the carousel and zoo train. They also enjoyed looking at the animals, playing on the playground, and feeding the birds at a special bird exhibit. The most memorable part of the day was when the boys were standing with their hands on the glass in front of the chimpanzees and one of the baby chimpanzees came over and banged his hands on the glass in greeting.
